The Holy Monastery of Rousanou, Meteora, Greece.
It was founded in the middle of 16th century. Unfortunately, the monastery was repeatedly plundered. The modern form it received at the end of the 20th century, when it became a nunnery. The monastery has the church of the Transfiguration with atypical altar toward the north. The frescoes of the church are one of the best examples of “Cretan School” of icon painting. The amazing iconostasis was made of wood and plated with gold.
